As Cool As Ice
The DS-1 also features a thermal overload protector which stops the shredder temporarily when it senses it is getting too hot. Once activated, the shredder will shut down and a red light will advise you that this safety protector has activated.

The stylish mesh pedal bin allows you to see just how full the bin is, this will help you ensure that waste particles do not clog up the blades when it becomes too full. Costumer Testimonials
I purchased this shredder for the reason that it was suggested by Which? magazine, and it has lived up completely to its promise. A little pricey, but it paid for itself right away I had it out of the box. My old shredder had given up and a ten-cm stack of client-confidential material had accumulated. It would have taken about 90 minutes feeding this at 2-three sheets at a time into the old machine, particularly allowing for the jams triggered by occasionally trying four sheets. I cleared this backlog in 5 minutes!
I now have a good bag-load of pet bedding. It is a pity I don't have any pets. I shall put it out for recycling and award myself a couple of green points.
1 reviewer complains about the safety mechanism. If you touch the metal around the slot with your finger, the machine will switch off. So don't touch the metal plate! (Touching it with the paper causes no trouble whatsoever.)
I bought this shredder as it's advised as the Very best Get in the January Which? magazine.
It flies by means of almost everything you chuck at it, shredding it into tiny pieces. I threw in a few old credit cards too....it didn't even slow down.
And with 11 pages at a time, it makes the chore of shredding particularly easy indeed.
